Our Story: About JBirney Financial

Founded in 2010, JBirney Financial was built on decades of experience and a deep belief that clients should always come first.

JB began his career as a licensed stockbroker in 1984, after pivoting from his path as a Special Education major at the University of Florida. Over the years, he gained experience across the financial industry: as an insurance agent with Equitable and Mass Mutual, a bank financial consultant with Barnett Bank, a wire-house advisor at Raymond James, and later an independent representative with Geneos and United Planners. He then made the decision to join United Planners as a Limited Partner.

JB formed JBirney Financial to eliminate the layers of middle management and focus fully on what mattered: putting clients first, and the JBF family second, in everything we do.

JBirney Financial now manages well over $100 million in client assets, growing from just over $20 million in 2010. But what truly defines us isn’t numbers, it’s people. We’ve built a close-knit team that feels like family (some of us by blood, all of us by heart), where caring is our most important skill.
