John "JB" Birney
Owner, JBirney Financial, Inc.
With nearly 40 years experience in financial services, John "JB" Birney brings deep expertise to his work with business owners, families and individuals. As an Investment Advisor Representative with United Planners, JB takes pride in helping clients navigate the complexities of today's investment landscape and build long-term financial security.
In 2019, JB introduced a proprietary planning process known as "M.A.P.S."-a simplified two-page process anchored by a custom "Asset-Map"-designed to clarify clients' financial pictures and track their progress toward personal goals. He works closely with clients to build strategies using traditional investments, annuities, life insurance, alternative options and separately managed accounts.
JB's commitment to his community is longstanding. A past Chair of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of the Northeast Florida Regional Leadership Academy, JB was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the board of The Early Learning Coalition of Putnam and St. Johns Counties. Today, he serves as Interim Board Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia, continuing his advocacy for early childhood education. He's especially proud to have helped launch the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Flagler County in 2010 and being a founding member of Bosses for Babies with the Children's Movement of Florida.
For more than two decades, JB is also a familiar voice as the host of "Good Morning Americana" now airing on Houndstooth Radio. A lifelong Florida Gator fan, he enjoys live music, golf, swimming and baseball. JB and his wife Gail have lived in Palm Coast since 1997. They have three grown children, all graduates of Flagler Palm Coast High School and UCF, and four grandchildren.
